We are pleased to inform all of our members that we have a new club training leotard available to purchase.
This short-sleeved leotard is available to both our Squad members and also to our recreational groups. It is black with an ‘Emerald Shimmer’ wave across the front and back (Boys leotards have the same design but in Emerald as opposed to ‘Emerald Shimmer’). Special thanks to A-Star leotards for this.
Please email us or speak to a coach at training if you are interested in purchasing one.
Please note that our Squad members are still expected to wear the competition leotard for regional and national events.

We were delighted to be able to partner with some local community groups this past weekend and offer Trampolining for some worthwhile causes.
Young carers from ‘The King’s Arms Youth Project’ (or “KA” for short) came over to Alton, where we offered their members an opportunity to try out Trampolining, with our coaches teaching them new skills. KA is a charity that does an excellent job in supporting the needs of young carers in Petersfield and the surrounding areas.
We travelled up to Basingstoke to spend the afternoon with children with disabilities from the Basingstoke GO! Club. Children from 8 to 18 all leapt and bounced and were delighted to be able to try out the trampolines. It was a lovely atmosphere with everyone enjoying themselves. They have written a lovely article about the afternoon on this link.
Both organisations do a terrific job and they work hard to provide help, support, and enjoyment to their young members. We were pleased to work together with them and hope to do so again in the future.

We are once again collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers. These can be collected up until 5th May 2015 and we will have a box available during training sessions for anyone who wants to add to our collection.
Last year we were able to purchase new benches with the vouchers that we collected, which have been of great benefit to the club. Thank you to everyone who has helped contribute vouchers.
The 2015 East Hampshire Sports Awards evening took place on Thursday 12th February and Alton Trampoline Club members were recognised for their commitments over the last year.
Dan Johnson and Chloe Foster were shortlisted for awards and attended the event, which was hosted by popular TV personality Fred Dinenage MBE. The evening opened with a motivating speech from Portsmouth FC manager Andy Awford, who spoke about overcoming hurdles to reach goals and how having the right attitude and determination gets rewarded with success. He relayed stories about his own career, how he suffered a number of setbacks due to injury, and how he managed to come back and build a successful career as a player, and then reaching high levels as a manager. He emphasised how very rarely success is achieved without overcoming a struggle at some point, but that perseverance makes it all worthwhile.
In the category of Junior Disability Sportsperson of the Year, Dan achieved Runner-Up, for the success he has achieved over the last year, coming 3rd at the British Championships, being selected for the GB Development Squad, and reaching the National Schools Finals taking place next month.
It was then read out that the winner of the Junior Volunteer of the Year… was Chloe! The trophy is awarded to someone under 18 who has shown enthusiasm, commitment, and has made a significant contribution through volunteering. Chloe has demonstrated all of these virtues, through the time she gives up to come into the Club and help, both through assisting with coaching to helping with events. Through her other volunteering work, she has also been selected as one of youngsters to represent the UK at the World Scouts Jamboree in Japan later this year. It was through all of this that Chloe was fully deserving of the accolade, to the thrill of her family and others in attendance.
The evening really emphasised the amount of talent and dedication shown by both groups and individuals in the area, and we congratulate both Chloe and Dan on their achievements and being chosen to be among the group of talent recognised.
Alton Trampoline Club competed in the first Regional Double Mini Trampoline competition of the year this past weekend, as Starlight hosted clubs from around the region at their new home in Romsey.
5 members of Alton Trampoline Club took part, and for most it was their first experience of a DMT competition. All of them showed great technique, performing skills on an area only a little bigger than a doormat than to achieve some strong results and come away with trophies.
Dexter was up first in the NDP 1 category and after collapsing when landing his very first pass, showed great character to continue and follow it up by successfully completed his next pass.
James and Hattie then competed in Levels 2 and 3 respectively and performed very well, sticking their landings. James came away with a 2nd place trophy while Hattie won her group.
Katherine, the most experienced member, having competed in one DMT competition prior to this, had to make sure that every skill she performed was a somersault. She proved to be up to test and 4 passes and 8 somersaults later she came away with a 2nd place trophy.
Finally, Stuart, returned to competing in DMT, and following a few dodgy warm-ups, proceeded to have an excellent contest with Nathaniel from Xcel. Both competitors impressed the spectators with their somersaults, and Stuart edged home to win gold.
DMT is still very much a new and growing discipline and with 26 entries, this was the largest Southern DMT competition to date. There were some excellent passes from Edgebarrow, Xcel, Alpha, and Starlight, making the performance of our members even more impressive.
A terrific start to the National season saw over 20 members from Alton Trampoline Club make the short trip to Farnborough to compete in the first Regional competition of the year, with over half of our competitors coming away with a trophy.
The event saw an overall increase in the number of competitors, with over 600 high-flying routines competed over the course of the 8-hour day.

The day started well with Hattie, Ben and Scott all winning trophies, and this was shortly followed by Harry and Ethan, who both won their respective groups after achieving personal bests from their routines.
Courtney also produced her best performance in a regional competition to come away with a 3rd place podium, while both Claire and Chloe narrowly missed out on a podium place managing 4th in their groups.
In the NDP 1 category Scarlett then took her place on the podium for the first time at a Regional qualifier, and Katherine performed well in a competitive NDP 6 group to come 3rd.
There were other excellent performances by ATC members, some of whom were competing at a higher grade for the first time. All of them overcoming any trepidation to get through their routines and many personal achievements were met.
The day finished on a high, as all of our performers in the Disability grades showed great composure to all come away with a trophy. Well done to Alex, Robert and Federica.
By achieving the minimum score and coming in the top 2 so far this year, Scott, Harry, Ethan and Scarlett all stand themselves in contention for qualifying for the Regional Finals later in the year.
With some fantastic support from parents, coaches and other members throughout the day, it was a successful start to the Regional season overall. Well done to everyone who competed and helped out!

.The hard work and achievements by members of Alton Trampoline Club were recognised at the annual Alton & District Sports Council awards evening.
Over 70 people from across the district attended the event, representing a range of sports from all areas, such as Show Jumping, BMX, Football, and of course Trampolining. Those shortlisted for the awards all had their nominations presented, and it was a clear indication of the talent that exists within the Alton area.
Dan Johnson won Junior Disability Sportsman of the Year, following another successful year, which included Dan finishing 3rd at the British Championships, being selected for the GB Development Squad and being an ambassador for disability gymnastics.
Chloe Foster won Junior Volunteer of the Year for the time and effort she gives in helping the Club. She has given up whole days to help with competitions and donates many hours of her time to regularly assist with coaching sessions. Outside of Trampolining, Chloe has also been one of the select few chosen to represent the UK at the World Scouting Jamboree in Japan later in the year, as a reward for her commitment to helping others.
Andy Johnson won Senior Volunteer of the Year for the hours he has dedicated to developing the club. As well as Chairman, Andy is also a coach, and he is always approachable and willing to give his time for others. In typically humble fashion, Andy said that the award “is for everyone involved in the Club. There is no ‘I’ in ‘team’ and the club runs because of the volunteers who all work hard and they should all be recognised”.
A terrific achievement by the three of them and we are delighted that they have received this recognition.
Well done to all of the award nominees, and thank you to Brian Scowcroft and the Alton & District Sports Council for organising the event. You can visit their website for more information about them.

All of us at Alton Trampoline Club wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope that you all enjoy the holiday season.
Our members also have a Christmas message they would like to share with you all:
See you in 2015!
Trampolining in Schools in the South continues to be popular, as we were pleased to host the Regional round of the 2015 BSGA Schools Competition, where over 350 young gymnasts jumped, somersaulted, and twisted, to try and earn a place into the next round.
While the introduction of an Intermediate category this year provided the opportunity for more medals being up for grabs, it was still only the top 3 individuals, and top 2 School teams, in each age group that were able to qualify for the Zonals round in January.
Alton Trampoline Club had 15 of its members enter the competition, representing 12 different schools and colleges, and enjoyed some tremendous success on the day, with 7 members qualifying through to the next stage!
In the Junior School groups for Under 11s, Jasmine beat 39 other competitors win a trophy and claim 3rd place in the Novice group.
Brothers Alex and Robert both managed to achieve podium places in the Boys Disability Novice category to make for a very happy home on Sunday evening!
In the Elite categories, both Dan and Katherine performed difficult routines to win trophies in the Boys Disability and Girls Under 14 groups.
Emmeline was part of the Churchers Team who won 3rd place in the Intermediate Under 14s, following on from their success the previous year, thus narrowly missing out on qualification but coming away with heads held high.
In the Under 14s Boys Novice, Scott produced two fantastic routines to the delight of his family to win the group and cap off a year that has seen him work so hard on improving his skills.
There were so many other positive performances as well as this, with special mention to Courtney, who achieved a personal success, coming 27th in the largest group of the day where she scored higher than nearly 100 other gymnasts in the Novice Under 14s!
It was a fantastic advert for the sport and shows the ever-growing popularity of Trampolining with School children. There were many successes and pleased children and coaches, and hopefully this will encourage more people to take up the sport.
We are incredibly proud of all of our gymnasts who competed in this and the South-East Schools competition, who all worked hard for the events.
Thank you to all of the judges and officials who gave up their day for the benefit of the young gymnasts, and to all of those parents and members of ATC who helped out on the day and in the set-up for the event. Finally, thank you to Janet Payne for the hours that must have been spent administering and co-ordinating entries from over 90 different schools!
