Trophies and celebrations at the 2014 ATC Intra-Club Competition
Intra-Club 2014 Trophies and Medals_141130

We ran our Intra-Club competition on Sunday November 30th, where both the recreational and Squad members of Alton Trampoline Club all had the opportunity to compete and show their routines. The event also saw the awarding of our annual trophies to celebrate the most improved and the best performing members of the year.

Many parents in attendance and staying for the whole afternoon to support every competitor and create a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. They had the opportunity to watch competitors aged from 5 to 20 years old, and saw everything from less complex 5-skill routines up to the dazzling double somersaults performed by our National-level competitors.

The afternoon was complete with the awarding of our annual trophies to celebrate the accomplishments of our gymnasts over the last 12 months, which has included competitors who had qualified to represent the region at the Regional Championships, Dan achieving 3rd Place at the British Championships, and Katherine being one of the select few in the region invited to trials on the Performance Pathway scheme.

Marcus completed a successful day by winning the ‘Most Improved Splat’ accolade. Finally, the winner of the ‘Most Improved Squad Member’ went to Ethan for his excellent year.

Interclub Competition Results as Numbers Soar

Alton Trampoline Club hosted and ran an Interclub competition for all ages and abilities on September 28th. It was a friendly event with other local clubs all invited to take part. With the Regional season finished, ATC and members from Swallows, Mistrels, Xcel, Alpha, and Farnborough Flyers all took up the opportunity for their new and experienced members to gain some further competition experience, with over 140 gymnasts taking part.

27 members from ATC took part, and it was great to see some of the older members who weren’t competing come along to support the younger members. With such a wide spectrum of ages and levels, there were certainly highs and lows, with plenty of trophies up for grabs. There were medals also available to members from all clubs which were awarded for personal achievement and were dependent on the Form Score of routines.

Huge thanks to all of the volunteers that helped the event to run, and it was great to see so many people there. From the feedback received, it was a successful day all around and fantastic to see the enthusiasm displayed and the popularity of trampolining in the region.

Medal Success at British Championships
British Championships 2014 - Dan medal

The Echo Arena in Liverpool hosted the 2014 Trampoline, Tumbling and Double-Mini Trampoline (DMT) British Championships, which saw an exciting and thrilling weekend with competitors from around the country competing for the British titles. Following his success in previous events throughout the year, Dan had qualified to compete in the Final of the Mens National A Category 2 section.

In a tight and closely-fought contest between himself, Nathan and Jago, Dan held his nerve to successfully complete his most difficult routine to date. He achieved 3rd place in the end, beaten to 2nd place by just 0.6. A great testament to the effort and hard-work put in, and a terrific achievement for Dan, who collected his medal amongst the lights and laser displays that greeted the crowd at the arena.

Well done to Dan for this fantastic result, and to all of the other competitors and coaches.

New Trampoline

Alton Trampoline Club have purchased a brand new ‘Eurotramp’ Trampoline, along with a 4×4 trampoline bed for its members. We have been saving up for a while, and we look forward to seeing our members benefit from the competition bed, which is the same type of bed used in National competitions.

ATC members star in latest BG video

ATC is an all-inclusive club and is a proud supporter of the “I’m In Disability Gymnastics” scheme run by British Gymnastics (BG).

BG have just released their latest promotional video for Disability Gymnastics and you don’t have to look too hard to see two familiar faces from the club!

The video can be found on the Discover Disability Gymnastics section of the British Gymnastics website.

ATC Welcome The Oaks Playscheme

ATC enjoyed working with the parents and children of The Oaks Playscheme to provide them with the opportunity to try out Trampolining.

The Oaks Playscheme is a small non-profit making group who support children with special needs and their families in the local area. We were delighted to be able to welcome them and run a session designed for them to be able to try out Trampolining. It was a fun session with a wonderful group of children, and the beaming grins were a just reward for everyone involved. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

GymMark Accreditation Passed

We are pleased to announce that we have once again passed our GymMark accreditation.

GymMark accreditation is awarded by British Gymnastics to clubs that it recognises as safe, effective and child friendly, providing a service in the community that children and young people, their parents/carers and others with a passion for Gymnastics can trust.

A lot of work from our volunteers goes into achieving and maintaining this accreditation, and demonstrates a continued development for the sport of Trampolining and the opportunity for people to get involved, enjoy and learn the sport. We are proud to once again be able to promote the Club as having achieved this status.
